Special Events Director
- Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
- Line reports: Special events team
Elephant Family has a vision of the world where one of our biggest, most intelligent animals survives peacefully alongside the communities who share its habitat.
To achieve this we invest in pioneering conservationists local to India, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Borneo and Sumatra who are dedicating their lives to fight for an animal with profound intelligence and emotional range.
In London their dedication is matched by our community of HNWI’s, trusts and foundations and global leaders from the worlds of business, art and fashion.
Who We Are
Elephant Family specialises in conceptualising and executing large scale events in collaboration with the world’s top contemporary artists, fashion houses and milliners. Together we have brought award winning, Guinness record breaking events to London, Ireland, New York and Scotland. We have raised millions, reconnected habitats for almost one third of India’s elephants and funded Whitely award winning conservationists who have transformed dangerous landscapes into areas of peaceful cohabitation.
Our portfolio of exhibitions includes Elephant Parade, The Big Egg Hunt, The Animal Ball and Travels to my Elephant. The creation of this role follows an 85% growth in income and Elephant Family’s most successful year since Elephant Parade London. To continue our growth, we need to recruit a Special Events Director to manage and execute our major events. You will contribute significantly to our fundraising strategy as well as work with our CEO, senior team and Trustees to increase efficiency and expand our network and PR reach. Reporting to the CEO, the role manages an experienced and skilled event team of three people.
This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and creative event fundraiser to flourish with an award winning leader in high profile events. The role brings additional structure and focus to the events team and will deliver three of the most artistic, adventurous and impactful events in Elephant Family’s history. You will have strong planning and line management experience and comfortable working in a major donor environment. You will be supported in your mission by a motivated network of Patrons, Trustees, CEO and a high performing events team. We are a small but formidable charity and we need someone who enjoys overcoming challenges in an entrepreneurial, dynamic environment. In return we offer a competitive package, international opportunities and connection to some of the most inspired people working in conservation today. We hope you find that compelling.
