About this project
Our partnership with Wildlife Conservation Trust will enable us to transform and expand our conservation work into central India, an important landscape for tigers and other species and a critical area for human-wildlife conflict.
A key focus of our partnership is to create safe spaces for people and wildlife by supporting work that regenerates forests and addresses human wildlife conflict.
Building on existing work, we will work collaboratively to expand initiatives to reduce forest degradation and minimise the risk of human-wildlife conflict. We will support the adoption of energy-efficient, biomass-fuelled water heaters in local communities. By providing communities with an alternative source of energy we reduce the need to venture into the forests for firewood. This simple yet effective solution not only protects the forest and wildlife, reducing conflict but also contributes to a significant reduction of CO2 emissions.
