Rajasthan, 2017

First held in 2015, the epic journey across India shines a multi-coloured spotlight on the plight of Asian elephants while raising much-needed funds for Indian elephant corridors. In 2015, racers traveled by rickshaw across Madhya Pradesh, but the 2017 adventurers trekked 500 kilometers from Jodhpur to Jaipur, aboard Gujarati Chagdas, Royal Enfield motorbikes, and Vintage Jeeps. When they arrived in Jaipur, they enjoyed a private preview of Elephant Parade India, a public art event showcasing 101 beautifully painted elephant sculptures adorning the city of Mumbai that symbolise the 101 wildlife corridors Elephant Family plans to create throughout India.

London - India, 2015

Travels to my Elephant, inspired by our late and great founder Mark Shand and his bestselling book, was a magnificent series of events throughout 2015 which started on the streets of London and ended in the jungles of India.

Launched by Elephant Family Patron Goldie Hawn, a fleet of elephant infused rickshaws charmed Londoners over the summer appearing at parades, events, shops and hotels across the capital before being auctioned at an event hosted by TRH The Prince of Wales. The climax was a wild, 500km journey by intrepid racers in 49 rickshaws across India through Madhya Pradesh to meet Mark’s elephant Tara in her home, Kipling Camp.

This unique collaboration with Quintessentially Foundation raised £1.3million for Asia’s endangered elephants and the communities that share their forest homes. 687 million people across the globe heard about our event and conservation message.
