Travels to my Elephant
A unique and heartfelt initiative that combines the spirit of adventure with a deep commitment to conservation and philanthropy.
Inspired by Mark Shand’s award-winning book Travels on my Elephant, this campaign aims to honour his legacy by combining a commitment to conservation with his unique sense of adventure and wonder.
The project blends storytelling, cultural immersion, and purpose-driven fundraising in an unforgettable journey. Each journey is imbued with Mark’s spirit of adventure and life-long love of India.
Launched by Elephant Family Patron Goldie Hawn in summer 2015, Travels to my Elephant adventures have so far travelled the breadth of Madhya Pradesh to meet Mark’s rescued elephant Tara in 2015, and migrated from Jodhpur to Jaipur aboard Gujarati Chagdas, Royal Enfield motorbikes and vintage jeeps in 2017.
